July 2016

So much has happened since I last posted here, so now it’s well overdue for a catch up.

I was asked to go to Bahrain in April to play a festival there as a solo act. This was a great experience for me not having been there before. The stage was huge with two massive video screens either side with an approx 3000 strong audience. It was great to meet all the other acts and spend some time getting to know them. Hopefully I will get the chance to go back again in the near future.

Reboot Fest – Workington

We always love travelling up to new locations and the Lake district was no exception. We were headlining the event and had a really great time there, despite it still being rather chilly on the night we took the stage. We really appreciated how many people were there waiting for us.

David Bowie convention, Derby

It is always an honour to be asked to headline this convention, so with a new bigger venue and a sell-out for avid Bowie fans, this surely was a great night for us all. I believe it will take place in Hull next year, so will keep you informed.

Cliffs Pavilion, Southend, Essex – New Milton Hall, Hampshire – Boltfest, Lancashire

A very memorable and busy weekend with 3 shows. The Maritime rooms at the Cliffs Pavilion is always a good night for us and a great audience.

We played the Memorial hall in New Milton for the first time and certainly not disappointed at all, so looking forward to returning back there in 2017.

Boltfest was another headliner event for us. We could not have asked for more with thousands really getting behind us enjoying some of David Bowie’s best known songs.

Bowienet party, Surya, London

I am so thankful that the Bowienetters have had us back once again to headline the event. Great performances by everyone and an honour to be endorsed by them. I believe that around £10’000 was raised for the cancer charity. Looking forward to this event again in 2017. Sadly and certainly missed was the personal message from David that he sent for this event for us all every year.

Kings Lynn festival

Another fantastic festival for us, this time as the support for the Wonder Stuff. Lovely to chat with Miles Hunt after the show when the 5000 wonderful audience gradually dispersed.

Blyth theatre, Northumberland.

It was a pleasure to be asked back to play this lovely theatre. I always remember the fantastic light shows they put on for their acts there. It was a long drive back though straight after the show but we were feeling quite exhilarated from the vibe there.

Dartford festival

We love playing these large festivals and again Dartford was yet another great event for us. Toyah was there performing aswell, so could not miss the chance for a quick chat with her before she left which was really nice. This show also brought back Mark Hatton for a one off performance, which he thoroughly enjoyed. Again the massive support from thousands really showed there.

I have also undertaken a few more solo shows this year, which I really enjoy doing more so these days. Plus as the band we have many more shows to look forward to in 2016 including a couple more large festivals, Festwich in Manchester and the Big Fake festival in Newark.

I am so grateful for some of the video footage we have received from recent shows. Some of it will now be uploaded onto the website. Many thanks to everyone who has been at our shows recently and given us some amazing feedback. We are very grateful for all the lovely comments we each receive.

Finally there will be more new material added for our shows in 2017. The problem being is with David’s vast repertoire of material means we could not possibly incorporate all the material we now have into one show, so please understand if we miss out someone’s favourite track. Of course with many shows the hit singles are a must, but we do like to treat the ardent fans to some classic album tracks aswell when we get the chance.
